With a week to go before the mid-term elections in Congress, President Trump said Tuesday he would seek to abolish the citizenship of children born in the United States to non-U.S. citizens and illegal immigrants. He is trying to revise America's immigration policy again.

Trump picked up the theory that was still legally questionable and told Axios News that he would sign an executive order on birth citizenship. This problem has been troubling some conservative Republicans for a long time.
Trump's last call for an end to this practice resonated with his voter base, but moderate Republicans and some legal experts said it would conflict with the U.S. constitution.
According to the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, "all people born or naturalized in the United States" are granted U.S. citizenship. The amendment was promulgated after the end of the Civil War to ensure that black Americans who had previously been slaves had full citizenship.
Over the years, the amendment has been routinely interpreted as granting citizenship to children born in the United States to illegal immigrants.
After Trump became president, he often attacked illegal immigrants. When he first ran for president in 2015, he was right against the birth of citizenship.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who often supports Trump, said he would introduce legislation in accordance with Trump's directives.
