Regarding the WTO reform proposals put forward by China and Europe and other WTO members, the summit pointed out that it is the duty of all WTO members to safeguard the dispute settlement mechanism, and to resolve the crisis in a constructive and pragmatic manner and safeguard the authority of the multilateral trading system.
He said that since this year, China has faced a complex and grim foreign trade situation. A total of 28 countries have launched trade relief investigations. The number of cases has increased by 38%. The steel and chemical industries have the largest number of cases filed. The United States and Canada are the countries that initiate the most relief investigations in China.
"Under the framework of WTO rules, China hopes to solve problems through dialogue and consultation with other WTO members and jointly promote the sustainable development of global trade."
